Jack's First Week of Preschool
Jack started at Crabapple Creek this Tuesday! He will be attending Tuesday and Thursday full days. John and I both took him to school on the first day while Sharon had kept Evan Monday night. We took pictures in front of the house and headed to school.
As we walked to his classroom, there were children in the adjacent room eating breakfast. Jack waved to them and said, "Hi Guys!"
We knew he wouldn't have trouble making friends. We talked to his teacher, Miss Courtney, and gave her his supplies. We hung up his backpack and put away the nap mat.
Miss Jenny helped him pour his cereal, milk, and juice after he washed his hands in the tiniest, cutest sinks you have ever seen!
It was time to say goodbye and no one cried!
I thought about Jack all day and wondered what he was doing! There are some things I assumed he would do as this is a Montessori preschool and I am a Montessori teacher too!
When I went to pick him up, I paused in the classroom and watched him playing in the sand outside. He was by himself with some trucks. He did not want to leave, but Baby Evan and I were ready to go!
After a fit, I got him I the car. When we got home, we dumped the sand out of his shoes. His socks were already on inside out, so this was probably done by a teacher earlier oo!
He said "criss cross applesauce" a number of times. Jack said he had Crabapple Creek for lunch, and sang the ABC song pretty well that night.
We can't believe he is already in preschool!

Evan at 9 Months!
Evan is 9 months old! He had his 9 month appointment on Thursday, March 15. He weighed 19 pounds, 2 ounces and was 28.5 inches long. Those are 25th percentile and 60th percentile, respectively. Evan isn't exactly a husky baby, but the doctor was just glad to see he is back on a growth curve now.
Sadly, Evan had an ear infection when we went in for the appointment. He happened to be running a fever when I got him from Sharon's that day. He wasn't able to get his shot, so we will go back over spring break.
Evan is still army crawling but getting faster! He sits up on his own really well and will play with anything that is near him. He is pretty much drinking just formula now. We have started baby sign language and trying to get Evan to take a sippy cup. He just isn't really understanding there is milk in there!
Evan is still sleeping really well (even with an ear infection). He is so happy, and we are too!
Check out that tooth! |

Evan at 8 Months!
Evan is 8 months old!
He is pulling himself across the floor by his arms as a version of crawling. He finally has gained some weight! He was 18 lbs. 8 oz. on February 20 at just over 8 months old. He has changed so much and is very happy now. His mood is pleasant, and he is so enjoyable to be around! Evan had his first bath sitting up at 8 months too! He likes to play with his feet (finally!) especially when I am changing his diaper.
Evan was sick for the first time at 8 months. He couldn't keep formula or food down for over a week. We were worried he was going to lose weight, but he seems to be okay!
Evan's second tooth on the bottom right started to poke through his gums. He sat up for the first time in the high chair on March 13 at El Rodeo! He looked around most of the time and played with teething toys. He also had some puffs. Evan continues to eat anything we give him. He likes it all!
We are so glad to see Evan was able to gain some weight this month. He is such a blessing to our lives!
