Memorial Day was hot this year! We met the Smolas at Independence Park at 10:00, and it was already unbearably hot. We had a good time though! In addition to seeing the Smolas, we ran into neighbors Alix and Kensley and one of John's coworkers with his family.
Jack went down the slides over and over. He ran over to the big boy slide a few times too. Jack wanted nothing to do with the swing which is much different than last summer.

This was right before we left. Believe it or not, Jack started walking to the car! He usually cries when it is time to go.
The Smolas came over for a cookout after we played. We were all hot and ready to eat! We had Nathan's hot dogs, brats, chips and potato salad. Kate brought her delicious relish to share with us. The best part was the ice cream sandwiches for dessert! |
