Indiana State Fair

August 12, 2011

We took Jack to the state fair on a Friday afternoon.  Jack did not have a nap because we went during his nap time that day.  Evan stayed with Grandma Norma to make things a little easier for us.
As soon as we got to the fair, it was time to eat!  There were no lines because it was about 3:00.  The night before we went was the largest crowd ever at the fair.  The weather was absolutely beautiful!  It was about 82 degrees and sunny.
John had a polish sausage and swirly fries.  I had a pork tenderloin and about 10 Diet Pepsis.  Jack picked off of our food.
I loaded Jack up with sunscreen when we dropped Evan off.  He seems to always rub it in his eyes no matter what we are doing.  His right eye was so swollen and red because we couldn't see him rubbing it in the stroller.  I said we couldn't take any pictures of him until it looked better!
Our main reason to go was for Jack to see all the animals in person.  He knows many farm animals from seeing them in books or on television.  I think Jack was a little overwhelmed when we got to the FFA barn.  There were plenty of animals for us to feed and pet!
After we were satisfied with our animal experience, we headed to the 38th Street side for some more food!   We rode the tractor there and back.  John had a corn dog and chocolate milkshake.  I had a scoop of peanut butter chocolate ice cream.  Yum!

Jack didn't really understand how to feed the animals.  He wasn't scared, but could not keep his hand flat.  He also dumped the food out before the animal could get any.  They ate plenty of food from me though.

There were two piglets in this pin, but one was sleeping.  Jack put his finger to his lips to say, "Shhhh."

They had a handicapped accessible tractor on display.  Jack got to take a ride!

At this point, Jack turned the corner, saw the ledge and sat down!  Jack NEVER sits down, ever.  It was very cute!

When we left the area, we washed our hands.  There weren't any stools for Jack to stand on, so that made it interesting for us!

Getting the hang of the animals

On the tractor ride to the 38th Street side

Loves sitting by Daddy!

Is there any other way for a trip to end?  Jack fell asleep pretty quickly after an exciting day of delicious food, interesting animals, and lots of riding in the stroller!
